A Project Manager is urgently required to service manage a series of communication products and systems. Thales is one of Europe’s largest defence suppliers, with an annual turnover in excess of €10 billion for the whole Group across our six core business areas of Aerospace, Air Systems, Land and Joint Systems, Naval, Security and Services. As a Project / Programme Manager you will: • Direct and control the design, development and manufacture of products/services within Customer Service and Support. • Report to Management on project progress & performance, for which you take full responsibility. • Manage project to budgeted time & cost. • Provide continuous management of the project including 3rd party stakeholders/sub-contracts. • Manage projects across various UK sites. • Hold responsibility of projects valued from £100k to £10m. • Manage multi-disciplinary teams of up to 25 employees. • Assist in bid preparation, supporting the Sales & Marketing function. • Manage & motivate teams in order to achieve efficient & timely implementation. The job requires a highly motivated manager with extensive experience of Communications Products / Systems and their procurement through to support and disposal. As a Project / Programme Manager you will need to: • Manage existing resources and any prospective shortfalls. • Manage UK & Overseas projects often in high pressure, multicultural environments. • Plan implementation across all disciplines. • Provide help and guidance to less experienced managers. • Ensure robust project plans are in place (time & resources) using the standard tool set (Primevera P3). • Manage and mitigate risks. • Regularly forecast project resources, expenditure, invoices, pipeline etc. • Manage TAPs (Technical Aid to Production). • Manage CNs (Change Notes) when raised. As Project / Programme Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include: • At least 2 years experience managing projects. • A high quality engineering & management capability. • Strong interpersonal skills & a confident manner when liaising with Customers / sub contractors. • Ability to work closely with development, PDS and installation Engineers. • Degree, General Management / Project Management qualifications (APM/PMI) • Defence / UK MOD / Government organisations. • Broad commercial & financial awareness.
