Waltham Forest has an immediate vacancy for an experienced lawyer to provide legal support to our Housing Service in respect of the delivery of housing developments throughout the borough. The successful candidate will have experience of commercial development work in this field including a knowledge of property and planning law. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the housing sector and of local government, housing associations or public sector work. The successful candidate will also advise the Council in respect of its management agreement with its housing management company and so commercial litigation experience will be preferred. We require a qualified lawyer but a UK qualification is not essential. Non-UK qualified lawyers must have relevant experience as outlined. The assignment is likely to last at least 6 months.
